Racine Fire Department
The RFD was created in 1843. It currently employs 147 people and has six stations throughout the City of Racine. In addition to the City of Racine, the RFD also protects the Villages of Wind Point and Elmwood Park.
Our Mission
The Racine Fire Department is committed to providing emergency response services to our community in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner. Our focus includes fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, confined space rescue, dive/rescue services, and fire prevention and education. We strive to improve the quality of life in our community by working with other agencies and organizations in education, prevention and mitigation efforts.
