Tax Incremental Financing
Tax Incremental Districts (TIDs) are established in certain neighborhoods, which offer public financing to assist in the development or redevelopment process within the TID. The idea is to boost development and expand the tax base in the neighborhood, therefore increasing property values for the district. For a listing of TIDs located in the City and their maps please click here.
The City of Racine's brownfields program encourages investment into and rejuvenation of potentially contaminated properties, commonly referred to as "brownfields". The brownfields program, along with the City's financial and community development assistance programs, aid in the redevelopment opportunities in the City.
