The mission of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to preserve our parks and open spaces and provide essential recreational programs and cultural services in a safe, professional and friendly manner.
The Racine Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department has parks totaling over 1,100 plus acres. Five community centers and many other facilities are available providing a wide variety of recreational opportunities.

Payment Information The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department accepts Master Card and Visa Card, cash and checks for all registrations, and programs payments. WPRA Ticket's may only be purchased with Master Card and Visa Card or a cash payment.
Activities & Sports Hotline Dial 637-7678 for softball, volleyball and basketball cancellations. This is a twenty-four hour service with recorded information.

REGISTRATION OPTIONS: Requests are accepted for the Registered Playground Program on a first-come, first-served basis.
FIRST YEAR KIDDIE KORNER PARTICIPANTS: Age verification is required by the first day of Playground programs. Verification in the form of a birth certificate, passport, state ID, or other government sanctioned document may be presented at registration or to the playground leader on the first day.
The PRCS Kiddie Korner, Future, Play It Again & BIGS summer playground programs provide creative fun and innovative learning experiences through organized games, field trips, free play and weekly special events. Each site is supervised by two college students extensively trained as playground leaders. The programs run for 9 weeks, Monday through Thursday, from mid-June through mid-August.

Grades 4 - 5 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Lockwood Park or Humble Park Community Center - locations are subject to change
The Drop - In Playground Program is a FREE nine week theme-oriented, non-registered drop in summer program that runs Monday - Thursday for neighborhood children 7 to 13 years of age. Recreational activities, special events, games, inter-park sports competitions and even field trips will be held! Please note: Unlike the registered playground programs, playground leaders do not monitor with whom, how, or when children come and go from playground. Please locations may be subject to change.
