Fall Leaf Collection

The City of Racine Department of Public Works will begin the fall collection of leaves on Monday, October 5, 2020.  Leaves that residents rake into the street gutters will be collected through November 30, 2020.  Prepared branches (cut 4’ long, no branch greater than 3” diameter and bundled with twine or rope no greater than 2’ diameter) and yard waste are allowed to be placed in the street during this time.  Yard waste/leaves/prepared branches must be placed in the street no earlier than the day before and no later than 7:00 am the day of your scheduled collection day as indicated below.

Leaves in bags or containers will not be collected.

Snow Note: 

Collection of leaves will be suspended in the event of snowfall.  Collection will resume ON SCHEDULE when weather permits.

REMEMBER

  • By City Ordinance, residents are only allowed to rake leaves, yard waste and branches into the gutters only through November 30.
  • DO NOT rake leaves into alleys.
  • DO NOT place leaves in bags or containers.

Residents are requested to:  Rake leaves into the street gutters PRIOR to their SCHEDULED collection day for leaves.
