Solid Waste Collection Cancelled Wednesday

Solid Waste and Recycling Collections have been Cancelled
Wednesday January 30th, 2019


Due to the extreme cold and high wind conditions being forecasted by the National Weather Service, solid waste and recycling collections are cancelled on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019.

The next solid waste pick-up for City residents whose collections are being cancelled on January 30th, 2019 will occur on their next regularly scheduled collection day, Wednesday February 6th, 2019.

These residents will be allowed to dispose of excess solid waste bagged in heavy duty, puncture-resistant trash can liners, securely closed with tape or cable ties, and placed next to their solid waste carts.

Both "Green" and "Gold" zones will be picked up Wednesday, February 6th, 2019.

The National Weather Service of Milwaukee has issued a Wind Chill Warning (wind chill factors below minus 35 degrees Fahrenheit) for the entire day Wednesday, January 30th, 2019. Wind chills of this magnitude pose a considerable risk for hypothermia and frostbite, make it too hazardous for workers to collect refuse in these conditions.
