Does the Public Health Department have a physician or a free medical clinic?No, the Public Health Department does not employ a doctor. Public Health Nurses are available to provide health information or make referrals to other community agencies. Residents in need of medical attention will be referred to local health care providers or low-cost medical clinics. Call 262-636-9431 for more information.
Does the Public Health Department have a needle/sharps disposal program?No, the Public Health Department does not collect needles or sharps from community residents. See Sharps Disposal for information on approved containers and a list of local registered collection sites.
Does the Public Health Department collect unused or expired medication?No, but he Racine Police Department has a medicine collection bin in the lobby of 730 Center St. This collection bin is available for residents to use for the safe disposal of unused or expired medications. See Medicine Collection for more information about safe medication disposal. NEVER flush medication down the toilet – use other options.
Can I have my blood pressure checked at the Public Health Department?Yes, blood pressure checks, health counseling, and health education are available by appointment. Call 262-636-9431 to schedule an appointment.

Does the Public Health Department have a WIC (Women/Infant/Children) program?No, WIC services are available at the Women’s Health & Nutrition Service of Racine, located at 2316 Rapids Dr. Call 262-637-7750 for hours of operation and more information about services.
Does the Public Health Department have information on quitting tobacco use?Information is available by contacting the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line from 7 am to 11 pm daily at 1-800-QUIT-NOW (784-8669), or visiting WIQuitline.org.
Does the Public Health Department offer TB (tuberculosis) skin tests?Yes, TB (tuberculosis) skin tests are available to residents for $15. Call 262-636-9431 to schedule an appointment.
Does the Public Health Department offer immunizations?Yes, the Public Health Department Clinic offers immunizations for children and adults. Childhood immunizations are provided for $20 charge per visit since the Public Health Department participates in the Vaccines for Children Program through the State of Wisconsin. Some adult vaccines are also available for a fee.
Immunization clinics are held on the first and third Tuesday afternoons of each month from 1:30 pm until 4 pm. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 262-636-9431.
