Budget
Proposed Budget
We are currently working on the 2026 City of Racine budget, if you would like to follow along all of the meeting dates are posted below and open to the public.
All meetings will be shown live on YouTube. Recordings are generally available by the following morning and can be watched online at any time.
Please note the Public Hearing period is on October 30 at 6:00 p.m. If you would like to come and address the Common Council about the City Budget this is the best opportunity to be heard by the entire Council. You may of course contact your Alderman directly at any time.
Operational Budget:
The General Fund is the City’s operations fund and supports services provided by the City. Other funds support specific services through grants or user charges.
Capital Budget:
The capital budget provides funding for the City’s major construction projects including building new facilities, improving our transit system, maintaining our roads and parks, and purchasing major equipment. The Capital Improvement Plan lays out anticipated projects for the next five years.
