Health Insurance Changes
-
The information listed below is intended for Retirees enrolled in the 04A medical insurance only.
Your health plan has NOT changed.
In 2023, the City will deduct the health insurance premium amount out of the Medicare Part B reimbursement and only provide the balance of the reimbursement to you.
If your health premium is higher than the reimbursement, you will be invoiced for the balance. If you have a balance, the first invoice will arrive in February 2023.
If your health premium is lower than the reimbursement, you will be provided the balance into your direct deposit account. Medicare Part B reimbursements will be provided quarterly at the end of March, June, September, and December.
Please provide your Medicare Part B statement, by mail, email or fax, that shows how much you will be paying for Medicare Part B in 2022. If you do not provide the statement, the City will reimburse you the minimum standard amount in 2022.
