Welcome to the City of Racine’s Benefits Information page for Pre-Medicare Eligible Retirees! This page will have information you will find helpful while enrolled in the benefits through the City of Racine.
Health Insurance Premium Information
The Medicare Part B reimbursement will be capped at $135.50 per month for retirees, retiree spouses, and retiree widow/widowers. The quarterly reimbursement amount is $406.50.
If your health premium amount is higher than the reimbursement, you will be invoiced for the balance. If you have a balance;
The 1st quarter invoice would arrive in February and will be due in March.
The 2nd quarter invoice will arrive in May and will be due in June.
The 3rd quarter invoice will arrive in August and will be due in September.
The 4th quarter invoice will arrive in November and will be due in December.
If you wish to pay for the year, please contact Human Resources at 262-636-9175.
If your health premium is less than the Medicare Part B reimbursement, you will be provided the balance into your direct deposit account. Medicare Part B reimbursements will be provided quarterly at the end of March, June, September, and December.
United Healthcare Medical Insurance
The City of Racine has one medical insurance plan called the 06A High Deductible Health Plan. It is a Preferred Provider Option (PPO) Plan which is administered by United Healthcare. The links below will provide an explanation of this plan.

Through CVS’s phone app or website, you can access information such as the formulary (updated quarterly), time-saving tools such as finding a pharmacy and managing delivery by mail, money spent on prescriptions and where there might be savings opportunities, and refilling prescriptions. A Health Savings Account (H.S.A) is a tax beneficial savings account that can be used in conjunction with a qualified High – Deductible Health Plan.
