Storm Debris Cleanup – What to Know
City crews are working to clean up storm damage. Here’s how to dispose of debris over the next several days:
Friday, May 16, 2025
- Place tree limbs and branches in the right-of-way (grass between the sidewalk and street) for curbside pickup
- Parks/Forestry and DPW crews will be collecting storm debris in the localized areas that were affected by the storm
- Please note that leaves, grass, etc. will not be picked up. Those materials will need to be taken to the Pearl Street Facility

- Parks/Forestry crews will be collecting storm debris in the localized areas that were affected
Pearl Street Yard Waste Drop-off (801 Pearl Street)

- 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. (one hour later than normal)
- Tree limbs (less than 6” in diameter) and other vegetation only
- Note: Entrance has changed — use the west side of Racine Street between 8th and 9th Streets due to construction
Solid Waste Transfer Station (6300 21st Street)

- 10:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
- Drop off recyclables, qualified bulky solid waste, and trash
Monday, May 19, 2025
- Continue placing tree limbs and branches in the right-of-way for pickup
- Parks/Forestry and DPW crews will be collecting throughout the day in the localized areas that were affected by the storm
- DPW Waste Drop Off Sites will be open, with a special exception from normal hours, for residents in the affected areas who need to dispose of storm debris

- Recyclables, other qualified bulky solid waste, and trash
Week of May 19, 2025
Enhanced qualified bulky item pickup:
- More than five items allowed
- No stickers required
- Place items at the curb on your normal trash collection day
Additional bulky items may be taken to the Transfer Station on Monday, May 19
