Snow Emergency in Effect: What You Need to Know About Parking

With snow falling and more on the way, the City of Racine declared a Snow Emergency from noon today (2/12) through noon tomorrow (2/13) to help keep roads safe and clear. Residents are urged to follow emergency parking rules to avoid fines and towing while allowing plow crews to do their work efficiently.

Snow Emergency Parking Rules

To ensure streets are accessible for plows, emergency vehicles, and commuters, parking restrictions will be in place as follows:

No parking on main roads: Noon today (2/12) – Noon tomorrow (2/13): (see map below or visit the Snow Emergency Parking web page for a list of streets)

Side street parking:

  • Noon today (2/12) – 6 a.m. tomorrow (2/13): Park on the ODD side only.
  • 6 a.m. – Noon tomorrow (2/13): Park on the EVEN side only.

Noon tomorrow (2/13): Normal alternate-side winter parking rules resume.

We ask that you please follow these rules to avoid fines and towing. Your cooperation helps keep roads safe and ensures plows can clear snow efficiently.

Plowing Around the Clock

Plowing operations will continue 24/7, with additional staffing in place since January. For safety, plow operators are limited to 16-hour shifts before mandatory breaks.

Thank you for doing your part to help our plow crews clear the roads quickly and safely!
