The Equipment Maintenance Division purchases and maintain vehicles and equipment used by all City of Racine departments.
The division strives to minimize vehicle and equipment downtime, providing a preventative maintenance program and educating users on safe operation and daily maintenance.
Equipment Maintenance maintains and manages over 1,000 vehicles and pieces of equipment ranging from plow trucks, fairway mowers, squad cars, wheel loaders, buses.
Equipment Maintenance also manages and operates the fueling site supplying approximately 800,000 gallons of fuel annually to all city vehicles.
Equipment Maintenance also develops the specifications for purchasing new vehicles and equipment and works with user departments to ensure the correct piece of equipment is purchased.
